Job Summary: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Lead to join our team and lead our ambitious growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management within the fintech space, and be an exceptional leader with a strong affinity for the startup environment. 

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Take charge of overall project leadership, guiding the team towards the realization of our mission and vision.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans including  compliance, product and marketing to drive the growth and success of the company.
  • Provide visionary leadership, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve their best performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, high performance and continuous improvement.

Product Management:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the delivery of innovative and customer-centric fintech products.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and operations, to define product roadmaps and prioritize feature development.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Utilize customer feedback and data insights to drive product enhancements and iterate on existing offerings.

Team Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring they have the necessary resources, guidance, and support to succeed.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
  • Foster a culture of learning and professional growth, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, investors, and partners, to align project objectives and secure necessary resources.
  • Effectively communicate project updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and building strong relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external partners and vendors, managing relationships and negotiating contracts when necessary.
  • Work with regulators to design and implement a robust and efficient compliance framework in accordance with Kenya regulations 

Key Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience in product management within the fintech space, preferably with a focus on consumer-facing products.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects and delivering results, ideally in a startup and/or fintech environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, product roadmap development, and project execution.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Fintech Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of the fintech industry, including emerging trends, regulatory landscape, and customer expectations.
  • Familiarity with financial education, savings, investment products, and related technologies is highly desirable.

Entrepreneurial Mindset:

  • Experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
